Artefact and Solaris anchored in Antibes Photo: LΓ©andre Loyseau / SuperYacht TimesThe 80-metre hybrid superyacht Artefact was launched by Nobiskrug in 2020. Commissioned by a visionary and technically-minded owner, Artefact is one of the yard's most eco-friendly projects to date. Her sophisticated propulsion system, solar panels and large battery storage system allow her to operate for a limited time with no use of internal combustion engines. She features an exterior design by British designer Gregory C. Marshall, while her interior comes from the drawing boards of Reymond Langton. She was spotted here last week anchored next to the new 140-metre explorer yacht Solaris. Launched by Lloyd Werft earlier this year and designed by Marc Newson for an experienced owner, she is one of the largest vessels to have touched the water in 2021. Solaris features over 2,000 square-metres of glass, culminating in the largest panes ever used in the luxury yachting industry. Both symbolise a new era of naval architecture, innovation, and superyacht design.
