Superyachts Bystander and Galvas in Antigua

Built under her project name Escort Vessel in 2006 by the French shipyard JFA, she is used as a support vessel for her owner’s racing J Class sailing yacht Velsheda. Her design by Rhoades Young and Vripack is based on a 1930s workboat to accommodate 12 guests and nine crew. Powered by twin 720 Hp Caterpillar engines, she has a maximum speed of 13 knots, and a cruising speed of 11.5 knots at which she can cover a range of 4,000 nm. Behind her classic curves, the 56-metre silhouette of the Heesen superyacht Galvas is emerging. Built by the Dutch shipyard in 2019, her dynamic leading lines of her superstructure and hull windows are the work of her designer, Jonny Horsfield, of British design firm H2 Yacht Design. Inside, Reymond Langton drew up Galvas’ interior, using a refined contemporary palette throughout. Van Oossanen Naval Architects engineered her highly efficient fast displacement hull. Galvas can reach a top speed of 15.5 knots with a maximum range of 4,300 nm at 13 knots.
