Superyachts Dilbar and Ona meet up in the Med

Seen here for the first time side by side are two of the most covered yachts in superyacht media history. The story of one owner’s quest for a larger yacht lead to the construction of the massive 156 metre superyacht now known as Dilbar. The 110 metre vessel which roamed the seas since her launch back in 2008 under the same name, was renamed Ona earlier this year. The two Lürssen yachts met for the first time in the waters off Porto Cervo, Sardinia last week.

Even though the two vessels might at first glance seem to share a few similar exterior features, these two giants have very little in common apart from having the same owner. Ona’s exterior is the work of designer Tim Heywood, known for having designed superyachts such as Pelorus and Radiant, both of which can be considered close sister ships to Ona.

Dilbar on the other hand is designed by Espen Oeino as the Monaco-based designer’s largest project built to date.
