On Friday 21st May, SuperYachtTimes.com is hosting a Charity Golf Day at Le Provençal Golf Club, Sophia Antipolis in aid of ‘Alive & Kicking’. The charity has set up not-for-profit social enterprises to make footballs in Zambia and Kenya which are distributed to local children. The balls are all printed with health information about HIV and Malaria and they have now reached over 40,000 children in Africa with the campaign, as well as providing employment to local communities. To date over 270,000 balls have been made and distributed across Africa.
The golf day will be a wonderful networking opportunity for those in the SuperYacht Industry in a magnificent setting. The day will include Breakfast, Lunch, and Prize Giving- made possible by Le Provençal Golf and Corkers Fine Wines & Provisions.
If you would like to play or know someone that would, please email [email protected] for further details. The more the merrier and the greater difference we will be able to make to peoples’ lives across Africa.
We will be doing our bit too!
On the 29th May 2010, Richard Callender from SuperYachtTimes.com and 9 old school friends are raising money for Alive & Kicking, in memory of a friend who tragically passed away 5 years ago. They will be climbing the 3 peaks of Scafell Pike, Snowdon and Pen y Fan in the UK. Not only will they be climbing these three peaks, we will also be cycling between them and then cycling back to London, finishing at Big Ben. By the finish line they will have climbed over 3000 metres, cycled over 500 miles and completed this all in the space of 5 days!
Richard has set up a JustGiving page for his challenge, it takes seconds if you would like to make a difference: http://www.justgiving.com/dealerswheelers
Thank you from the team at Alive & Kicking, not to mention the thousands of children and families you will be helping across Africa.
