The Mediterranean regatta season came to an end recently, with one of the most successful yachts of the season proving to be the Southern Wind built Windfall. Designed by Reichel Pugh, the 29 metre vessel came out victorious at the latest Maxi Rolex Cup, where she took three first places over the course of the event held in Porto Cervo from the 6th to 12th September. The Southern Wind 82 Grande Orazio, winner of the last two editions of the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta, came in a strong second by just one point.
Windfall continued her competitive streak two weeks later at the inaugural and season closing Voiles De St Tropez. Despite a podium finish being just out of reach, she finished in fourth scoring the same points of My Song, another successful vessel of the Reichel Pugh design studio.
With the Caribbean season just beginning, Windfall is set to continue on to compete in the RORC Transatlantic Regatta, as well as the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta and the St. Barth Bucket. She will also be one of the first yachts participating in the Maxi Yacht Rolex Caribbean Cup.
