The Sydney Boat Show, set to take place from the 29th of July through the 1st of August, has been cancelled.Sydney Boat ShowThe Boating Industry Association (BIA), who organised the show, made the decision in support of local measures taken against the spread of Covid-19. Darren Vaux, president of BIA, comments, “Cancelling the event supports government efforts to get the current outbreak of Covid-19 and its highly-contagious Delta variant under control. It also recognises the likely challenges that our local and interstate members and exhibitors will encounter over the coming weeks.”

The event’s exhibition space was sold out, making the show’s cancellation a more difficult decision. Vaux continues, “It was a difficult decision to cancel the event, especially as there was such strong industry support.”

The BIA has said that it plans to turn its focus to promoting the ‘boating lifestyle’, which has proven a popular choice throughout the pandemic.
