De Birs Yachts were represented by M/Y M.T. Time at the 2013 Dubai International Boat Show. This particular De Birs 85 RPH was built in 2009 and is the 14th hull in the series with hulls 15 and 16 nearing completion. Captain Yavuz invited us onto his boat, a yacht which he is clearly very passionate about.
Built in Alexandria, Egypt, M.T. Time easily cruises at around 22 knots and despite her size, handles rough seas with ease. Her deep draft of 1.16m combined with fin and zero speed stabilisers means that guests always feel at home.
The cockpit is well laid out with comfort and functionality in mind. Winches and lines are hidden beneath two side sunbeds with a main sunbed transforming into a dinner table with a touch of a button.
The main salon features an owner's bar with an informal dining area and spacious lounge. A private lounge is situated forward of the bar and doubles as an intimate entertainment room or cinema.
Four guest cabins are below, with the owner's cabin placed aft for maximum comfort. High gloss polished wood paneling has been extensively used throughout all the cabins as part of H2's 'Elegance Interior' design.
On the fly bridge is a large sun seating area with two large sofas forming an outside lounge and dining area.
M.T. Time is an excellent example of where innovative design maximises living spaces on board, as well as full separation between the crew and the owner. The yacht has been very well taken care of by Captain Yavuz and his crew.
