Canadian boat builder Tactical Custom Boats has signed a contract for the build of a 23.4-metre fast pilothouse motor yacht which was commissioned by an American client.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/32648/image/large-f45ea9573a0aeca28b15ba8e2430da7c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/32648">The vessel is the design and engineering work of American studio Bill Prince Yacht Design who designed and developed the unique hull shape. The custom project is designed for speed and comfort for an owner who is very familiar with the ocean who will take delivery of the yacht in 2019. Designed for off-the-beaten-track cruising, the project is filled with several stand-out features and includes a transom designed to launch and retrieve tenders and toys without the use of a davit crane. The most modern electronics and lightweight carbon fibre will be installed throughout the interior for a complete high-tech package. The first hull in the 35m Nautor Swan 108 yacht series was launched from the Boatbuilding Technology Centre in Pietarsaari, Finland.

The second day of the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Event/176" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta - 2023">Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta</a> yesterday arrived with excellent winds that picked up during the course of the afternoon. The <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Event/176" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta - 2023">Southern Wind</a> Division started at 11.30 a.m., with a south-easterly wind of around 8 knots, headed for Razza di Giunco beach, where the shipyard had organised a lunch and beach party for its owners and guests.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/273385/image/large-6bea8d0c0c798daa6f51e2b88de93ff1.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/273385">At 1 p.m., with 10 knots of breeze from the south-east, the Superyacht division regatta began and the 33-meter <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5680" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Pattoo33.0m (108'3&quot;)Vitters Shipyard2016">Pattoo</a> was the first yacht off the blocks in the revised staggered starting sequence. The fleet headed upwind towards the south, rounding the islets of Mortorio and Soffi, then came back up under gennaker, through the Bisce pass, with winds that had increased to 16 knots in the meantime. At the mark by the Tre Monti shallows, the superyachts headed for the islet of Monaci, which they rounded before embarking on their upwind return leg to Porto Cervo.
