The Italian yard Tankoa Yachts has announced the sale of their 50-metre S502 superyacht Elettra which is currently in build in Italy to a European owner, with Giancarlo Mussino from the brokerage company Sinos S.A involved in the sale.
Scheduled to be launched in February 2019 with delivery expected in May 2019, the 49.99-metre all-aluminium S502 Elettra was designed by the Florence-based studio Francesco Paszkowski and is the second Tankoa superyacht of this size under construction. In terms of style, she is a sistership to Vertige which was delivered last summer, with her interiors designed by Paszkowski alongside the architect Margherita Casprini.
On her lower deck, Elettra will be equipped with a gym and beach club, three VIP cabins with king size beds and two guest cabins with twin berths, plus crew quarters and service areas. Overall, Elettra will accommodate up to 12 people and nine crewmembers.
Photo: TankoaLike Vertige, Elettra 's balanced and timeless style is matched with a layout specifically designed for ease of movement on board. Owners and guests can move from deck to deck in complete privacy since crewmembers have their own dedicated pathways for servicing the yacht.
On the main deck, the cockpit comes equipped with an oversized sunbed, reversed U-Shaped sofa, coffee tables and a bar. On the same deck level, the interior comprises a spacious salon, galley, dining room and generous master suite with office and day lounge equipped with fold-down balconies on both sides.
The upper deck was designed around spacious outdoor areas for relaxation, with a dining table and access to the comfortable sky-lounge. The foredeck also includes a solarium area and open-air lounge.
Comfort also prevails on the fly-deck, with relaxation areas including sofas, sun-beds a bar and a large Jacuzzi.
Photo: TankoaPhoto: TankoaIndeed, the main innovation onboard this new 50-metre superyacht is her hybrid propulsion system which comes complete with four different operation modes. Her main engines are twin MTU 8V4000 M5 engines with a maximum power of 2 x 895 kW and she also comes equipped with VT Naiad stabilizers.
In the diesel-electric mode, the electric motors are powered by the two variable speed generators, allowing for a speed of 10.5 knots and an impressive range of 4,900 nm.
In hybrid mode, one of the two main engines drives feeds the same shaft electric motor to generate electrical power to run the second electric motor for propulsion and hotel load. At 12 knots, the yacht will have a cruising range of approximately 4,000 nm, with the two diesel generators inactive in this mode.
Thirdly, in her traditional mode, the yacht can sail at 17 knots using both main diesel engines for propulsion and a diesel generator for onboard services. Finally, in full-speed mode, with both main engines and generators supplying power to the two electric motors and for hotel loads, the yacht will reach a top speed of 18 knots.
