The 50 metre Alamshar back on seatrials

The 50 metre Alamshar, which was first launched 11 years ago, has once again appeared on our radar. The yacht was seen on seatrials off the coast of Plymouth yesterday and today, reaching speeds of 24.6 knots. Shrouded in secrecy, the project seems to have suffered some setbacks since her initial launch, although none of these rumours have been confirmed by those involved in the project.

After her initial launch in 2003, she returned to the shipyard, where she stayed another 3 years. Relaunched in 2006, the yacht seemed to have suffered a fire in her engine room, and she had to return to the yard again.

Alamshar is believed to be powered by Rolls Royce engines with gas turbines, designed to push the yacht up to speeds over 60 knots.
