Columbus Yachts presented a preview of their latest project in collaboration with Studio Vafiadis at the Monaco Yacht Show 2014, the Columbus Sport Oceanic. The 70 metre superyacht features vast outdoor areas combined with luxurious interiors and a relaxed, light ambiance throughout.
The interiors include two big salons on the main and upper deck that can be utilised in a more formal and sophisticated or relaxed and cosy setting. Both salons are framed by large windows, allowing for spectacular views to enjoy whilst dining.
Guests are accommodated over six cabins in total, four of which are located on the main deck. The generous owner's suite is found in the fore main deck after a private lobby entrance. The last guest cabin is a VVIP suite located in the fore upper deck, which can also play the role of a small master.
In the aft lower is the state-of-the-art beach club directly facing the water through an extensive swimming platform, all accessible from a lobby hidden in the main deck. The uninterrupted flybridge is idea for relaxation and entertainment, with a large Jacuzzi and panoramic sunbeds as well as an al fresco dining area served by a full bar. Large technical spaces plus a tender bay and the engine room are in the lower deck, optimised to offer the best of the space available to the beach area.
Both the elevator and the guest stairs reach the lower deck with a dedicated entrance for the owner from the sea that, unused, can become a gym with direct access to the water.
Columbus Yachts is a brand of Palumbo Group. Giuseppe Palumbo, CEO of the Group, comments on the vessel, stating, "The new Columbus Sport Oceanic, which is currently under construction in Naples Shipyard, has been created in a tight collaboration with Studio Vafiadis and it will represent an additional line, a forward oriented, fresh and dynamic cutting-edge stylistic approach to propose to new clients. As in all our Columbus Yachts Line, the environmentally friendly studies had an important impact on design as well as in the project. Columbus Sport Oceanic is in fact designed to have the hybrid propulsion option among many other environmentally friendly features. The sea is something we need to respect and preserve for future generations.”
Columbus Yachts is currently building three superyachts, with two deliveries scheduled for 2015 and one in 2016. The 2015 deliveries include the second Columbus Sport Hybrid 40 metre and a 57 metre Classic Line full displacement vessel.
