Holland Jachtbouw (HJB), Hoek Design, Azure Naval Architects and Fraser Yachts have joined forces to introduce a brand-new concept for the luxury motoryacht sector. The 51.50-metre Hollander offers the finest performance yet seen on a full displacement yacht below 500 GT. Combining a sleek, low-resistance aluminium hull with a hybrid propulsion package, it offers major fuel savings and interior flexibility. The Hollander concept will be further developed with individual clients in order to meet their specific requirements, with countless options available in terms of layout and facility.
The Hollander’s straight bow maximises the waterline length, reduces pitching and offers superior standards of comfort. It is incorporated within a genuinely refreshing retro-classic timeless design, including a barrel stern with a beach platform. The Hollander is the first yacht below 500 GT to deploy a smart power pack system that takes full account of the total onboard power consumption.
Four generators supply all the power needed for propulsion and the hotel load. Consumption is calculated in different user modes, with an intelligent monitoring and control system deciding which generators need run at which rpm and when. Moreover, the use of a battery bank offers a silent operation option and zero-emission capability.
The Hollander will use 35 percent less fuel that an equivalent displacement vessel. And because the gensets can be located away from the propulsion train, the options for interior layout are radically enhanced. Additional accommodation can be located in the prime real estate areas while the ‘engine room’ is located in the best place for interior weight distribution and maintenance. The Hollander has a range of 5000 miles at her 12-knot cruising speed, with a top speed of 16 knots.
“As the name suggests, the Hollander has been designed and engineered in Holland and will also be built at our yard.” comments Holland Jachtbouw MD Paul Dielemans. “Our aim was to inspire a new generation of owners who are looking for a powerboat that is unique and challenging without being overly futuristic. Modern materials and a lightweight aluminium construction are synthesised in a high-tech gentleman’s yacht full of innovative ideas.”
