The latest superyacht gossip - 5

The 68m (223ft) Arabian owned Alwaeli (photo) left her home berth in Greece last week on her way to Holland. Today we were informed that Alwaeli is on her way to the Amels shipyard in Vlissingen for a refit.

Royal Huisman signed a new contract for a 57.5m sailing yacht, Twizzle. Twizzle will be designed by Ed Dubois and Redman Whitely Dixon and her interior is by designers David Collins and RWD. The owners of Twizzle also own the 55m Feadship with the same name. The new Twizzle will not be their first sailing yacht, as they previously owned the Perini Andromeda La Dea.

Big news on Yachtspotter.com: They revealed that the 92m Evergreen could have been sold to the owner of Attessa and on her way to Vancouver for a complete rebuild.

Still under construction but already up for sale is Benetti’s Geanelle. This new Benetti Vision is set for a delivery in July of this year, just in time for the summer season. She is offered at a price of $29.5 mil and for sale through Chamberlain Yachts.

On 9 January Heesen launched it largest yacht to date, the 50m Galactica. She will start sea trials soon and will be delived to her owner at the end of March. On her maiden voyage Galactica will sail to Barcelona.

A new 48m explorer yacht was recently delivered to her owner after an 8 year build period. The yacht, T6, was built by Flightship Construction in New Zealand to a design of Pieter Beeldsnijder. Currently she is underway to Dubai for the Dubai International Boat Show and she will spend the summer season in the Mediterranean.

T6 will not be the only yacht to debut at the Dubai International Boat, Azimut Yachts will debut their new model, the Azimut 103S at the show. The 30m (101ft) yacht is designed by Stefano Righini with an interior by Carlo Galeazzi.
