The new SuperYacht Times team

Since our establishment in 2005, SuperYacht Times has gone from strength to strength. We’ve certainly come a long way since two young, Dutch yachting enthusiasts were snapping photos of yachts whenever they could, and serving a digital niche in the business at the time. 2018 has been a fantastic year for SuperYacht Times and to continue our growth, we are excited to announce a few new key appointments. 

SuperYacht Times logoHelen Haacke, who has been with us for the past three years has been promoted to Commercial Director. Helen will work closely with myself and the Sales and Marketing team to further develop our advertising and marketing solutions. Helen says, “I’m thrilled to take the next step in my career at SuperYacht Times. As Commercial Director, I am looking forward to working alongside company Founder and Director, Merijn de Waard, to grow this company even further.”

Vivian Hendriksz has also been appointed as Managing Editor for SuperYacht Times and she will lead the editorial team to continue the unrivalled news service for which we are renowned for and to make sure the SuperYacht Times newspaper will continue to grow. “I am extremely excited to be taking over the editorial helm at SuperYacht Times and eager to continue the excellent work carried out by my talented predecessor, Gemma Fottles. Under her guidance, SuperYacht Times has grown into one of the leading news platforms for the industry and I look forward to ensuring that SuperYacht Times reach even more dizzying new heights.”

As of this year, we will operate under just one brand: SuperYacht Times. The SYT brand has become one of the most well-known in the business thanks to our unrivalled coverage of the world of yachting and unique photos of new superyachts. We feel this consolidation of our brand makes sense not only for us, but for our clients and peers in the business.

We have been working on this latest development for the past three years, and with our recently appointed Head of Intelligence, Ralph Dazert, we are ready to continue our leading position in the yacht intelligence market. Speaking of joining the team, Ralph says: "Before I joined SuperYacht Times, I spent six years at Netherlands Maritime Technology, the Dutch association for shipyards and marine equipment suppliers. There, I learned how to find market information about all the latest projects, and also not to take information at face value. Merijn recognised that I have the same passion for the superyacht market as he has, which is why I’m here as Head of Intelligence today. What I find challenging about the superyacht industry is the fact that there is still so much room for improvement of the quality of market information compared to merchant shipbuilding. SuperYacht Times is at the forefront of this development, so I am very excited to be a part of that!”

Demonstrating the strength of our intelligence division, I’m proud to state that we are the official superyacht data and intelligence partner of the Monaco Yacht Show once again, as well as the exclusive supplier of data to the Superyacht Builders Association (SYBAss) and many of its members.

Another new major development at SuperYacht Times is the sales listings on our website. The unique thing about our marketplace is that it is complete. We are the only website with all the superyachts listed for sale. The reason is that we list all the yachts for sale, with easy buttons to send notifications to request changes, as they are managed by our experienced intelligence team. We believe that if you want to create a marketplace that is of interest to buyers, you need to offer a complete marketplace and not just feature yachts that you are paid to promote. We have invested a lot of time and money into this and I am confident that we are going to be the most important superyacht marketplace in the near future.
