The newly founded Far East Yachts yard in Vietnam

The original Laura Jane Boatyard, that is currently building the 72’ LOD schooner Laura Jane, progresses and expands under a different name. The newly founded company, Far East Yachts, with the build of new water front facilities, offer the skills acquired by the now very experienced national shipwrights and the original expatriate management to potential clients worldwide.

The facility has been moved to a 2,400m2 plot of land on the sea-front of Dong Xuyen Industrial Zone, in Vung Tau City, Vietnam. This is located a pleasant 1.5 hour journey by hydrofoil down the Saigon River from Ho Chi Minh City and its international airport. The facility initially comprises a 15 x 30m construction shed and a 15 x 30m fitting out shed, offices and general facilities, employing 8 shipwrights with the provision to expand to 30 employees. The facility is fitted with all necessary boat building machinery plus its own launching equipment consisting a heavy-lift boat trailer and floating dock. Far East Yachts shall have the ability to build, maintain and repair yachts of thirty meters in length and a hundred tons weight.
