A procession of classic and modern supercars will begin an exhilarating journey from Chilston Park in Kent through rural France, to the Monaco Yacht Show, marking the fifth Redman Whiteley Dixon Auto Tour.
Tour host, superyacht design studio, Redman Whiteley Dixon, has to welcomed new sponsors; Moet & Chandon, Veritas International and MarineGuard. Over 3000 miles of research has been undertaken to create an exciting new route for 2012.
The three-day Tour will include seventeen beautiful automobiles; Ferrari 250GTO, Aston Martin DB6 & Ferrari California to name a few. Equipped with only a road map and a hamper of scrumptious goodies (satellite navigation strictly not allowed) the group of car enthusiasts, superyacht designers, shipyard owners, architects and artists will navigate a well planned route through stunning French countryside, interspersed with carefully selected lunch and wonderful overnight stops.
Starting earlier than previous years, the tour will use the advantage of time to travel further south on the first day easing the required mileage on day two. The new route is designed to give a much greater variety of driving conditions, allowing navigator, driver and car to fully engage and enjoy the journey.
The convoy will descend into Casino Square in Monaco on Tuesday 18 September, 2012. Complete with police escort, their arrival is sure to add excitement to the beginning of the Monaco Yacht Show. A drinks reception on the terrace of Hotel de Paris will mark the end of Redman Whiteley Dixon’s Auto Tour 2012.
Partner at Redman Whiteley Dixon, Justin Redman, comments: “The Tour is a unique opportunity to share an appreciation of both classic car engineering and yachting, with like-minded friends, colleagues and clients. It is the ultimate journey and was born from our desire to reignite the excitement and pioneering spirit of travel. We are delighted to welcome new sponsors on board this year and look forward to sharing this adventure with them.”
MarineGuard Managing Director, Richard Webb, comments: “Having been aware of the tour for a number of years it was a clear choice for MarineGuard and Veritas to become a part of it. The combination of classic cars and the beauty of the French countryside only added to our desire to become involved and we're hugely excited about the journey. RWD has organised an incredible event and if past years are anything to go by, it will be a huge success and one which both MarineGuard and Veritas are proud to be a part of. We wish everyone taking part the best of luck and we'll meet you all at the finish line!"
