The Superyacht Cup is pleased to announce the appointment of James Pleasance as Sales and Marketing Director. James will be working on the current portfolio of Superyacht Cup events in Palma and Antigua, as well as new projects within the Informa Yacht Group including the inaugural World Yacht Racing Forum in Monaco in December. The Superyacht Cup is now in its 12th year; the 2007 event in Palma was one of the largest ever Superyacht regattas in the world, where 52 sailing yachts took part and several mega motoryachts attended as “mother ships”. Held over three days in June, The Superyacht Cup has become a firm favourite with owners who enjoy the opportunity to meet and sail with other Superyachts in the beautiful Bay of Palma. James joins The Superyacht Cup and Informa Yacht Group with more than 20 years experience in the marine industry, which has seen him in roles in marketing, public relations, and sponsorship management with a special focus on global yachting events. He has acted as a consultant to companies such as Rolex, Prada, BMW and UBS, as well as finding the time to successfully manage The Superyacht Cup regattas in Palma in 2005 and 2006. "We are very excited to have someone with James’ broad experience join our team. His professional relationships and expertise in sailing together with his specific knowledge of the Superyacht industry is a tremendous asset to our business, particularly at a time when we are expanding our portfolio significantly" commented AndyTreadwell, CEO of The Superyacht Cup.
