A joint endeavour with Omega Architects and a leading VR agency, Bricks & Goggles, the Ultimate Bridge Experience is a state-of-the-art, virtual reality environment delivered via Oculus Rift headsets. With the headset on, you explore a futuristic and highly realistic bridge concept for an 80-metre superyacht.

‘The Ultimate Bridge Experience’ was created to meet the needs of superyacht customers looking for bridges which are an integral part of the yacht’s design and atmosphere, rather than separate, purely functional working spaces. Responding to the sluggish pace of integrated bridge system development, Admarel’s ‘Ultimate Bridge Experience’ was born.

The additional space created through this VR system offers an attractive, well-positioned place to manage and organise everyday life and business on board. Through this technology, you can be fully immersed in the VR scenario and interact with the virtual environment with a sense of realism that was unimaginable even a few years ago.

This year’s Monaco Yacht show also features the world premiere of Admarel’s brand new EntryPod: a compact, versatile and mobile all-in-one solution for superyacht access control and visitor communications. Developed in response to client requests, the EntryPod mobile superyacht security system delivers an innovative mix of CCTV, Intercom and access control functionality.

Designed to be mounted on a stand at the point of entry to the yacht, typically the foot of a passerelle, the EntryPod links into the yacht’s security system via a connection port. A highly flexible system, authorised guests and crew members have a choice of verification methods for entry, including PIN numbers, card readers and biometrics. For those looking for high-security biometric identification, the EntryPod also comes with the option of 3D face recognition via a two megapixel colour camera.

Powered by Ethernet connection to the yacht, the EntryPod features built-in CCTV and intercom system, enabling easy management of entry to the yacht by on-board crewmembers. Unlike other entry systems, the EntryPod can be integrated with almost any VOIP (CIP), CCTV and access control system, using NO/NC contact, for interface with the ship’s security system. In addition to the free-standing option, a range of other mounting alternatives are available.

Identifying the potential future cyber security risks faced by today’s superyachts, Admarel has also developed a whitepaper on how to tackle this threat, which will be available to view in hard-copy at the show, and can be downloaded here.

Stefan Nieuwenhuys, the managing director at Admarel, is looking forward to welcoming visitors at the show: “The Admarel and Alewijnse teams preparing the event are putting in excellent work and having a lot of fun in the process. We have so much to present at the show: see you all soon for a coffee at our stand!”
