Third Amels Limited Editions superyacht created

Amels, a world leader in the Art of Yacht Building, is meeting global client demand by creating a new model in its highly successful Limited Editions program. The model is the 54.30-meter Limited Editions Amels 177.

Since Amels introduced Limited Editions in 2005, owners have taken full advantage of the concept’s inherent freedom for customizing. The Amels 171 proves this: The series includes a wide-body version, several Amels –inspired interiors by Rome-based architect Laura Sessa Romboli, and custom interiors by Nuvolari Lenard and Peter Heuvelmans.

One client for an Amels 171 asked shipyard designers and engineers to find sufficient space for a touch-and-go helipad, an indoor/outdoor “beach club” with steam bath, shower, day toilet, changing area, entertainment center, a longer aftdeck area, and a larger lazarette for stowing watersports gear. This required a hull extension to about 177 feet, with no change in beam. The changed aesthetics and greater amenities of Tim Heywood’s original shaping led to our offering the Limited Editions Amels 177 as a distinct new model.

The Limited Editions Amels 177 has fundamentally the same accommodations arrangement as her predecessor. The model includes other important features such as a larger transom door to ease water-toy handling, as well as Amels –pioneered zero-speed stabilization and environmentally friendly genset exhaust soot filters. The 650-gross-ton Amels 177 is built to Lloyd’s Register Class and MCA LY2 compliance.

Amels currently has 11 projects under way.
