Rome-based architects Borzelli & Berta have unveiled details about new semi-displacement additions to the Thunderbird line of yachts that they have developed for South Korean shipyard GHI Yachts. The new concepts developed for the Thunderbird fleet will include a 40-metre, a 45-metre and a 50-metre yacht with a sporty, sleek contemporary style and a 40-metre carrier with military lines. Borzetti & Berta are also currently developing a 32-metre Thunderbird and a 50-metre Thunderbird carrier.Photo: GHI YachtsPhoto: GHI YachtsWith the yachts sporting naval architecture by Francesco Rogantin, Borzelli & Berta have developed exterior and interior designs for the Thunderbird range. Common characteristic of the yachts in the range are the optimised external areas and the inclusion of swimming pools, with the 50-metre Thunderbird showing off three pools. The 40-metre Thunderbird carrier features a touch-and-go helicopter platform and the full-beam owner’s suite connected to a swimming pool at the bow.Photo: GHI YachtsPhoto: GHI YachtsAndrea Borzelli comments: “Our goal was to give to clients the feeling of dealing with a bigger boat, something that almost feels in another league, and this is probably something that reached its peak with the 130’ carrier.”Photo: GHI YachtsPhoto: GHI Yachts
