<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5565" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="The Italian Sea Group (Company)">The Italian Sea Group (TISG)</a> has announced that they have finalised the sale of their Viareggio shipyard to <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6468" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Next Yacht Group (Company)">Next Yacht Group</a> for €21 million. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/41875/image/large-f7642f96da984628baa58d24c67a629d.JPG" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/41875">The Viareggio shipyard comes from the acquisition of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/51" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Perini Navi (Company)">Perini Navi</a> which was carried out in 2021 and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5565" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="The Italian Sea Group (Company)">TISG</a> finalised the handover to the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6468" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Next Yacht Group (Company)">Next Yacht Group</a>, which operates in the construction of yachts up to 50-metres.&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5565" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="The Italian Sea Group (Company)">TISG</a> determined that the production site was inadequate for the production of yachts over 50-metres, which represents a large proportion of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5565" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="The Italian Sea Group (Company)">TISG</a>’s core business structure. In 2023, the company sold the building previously used for <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/51" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Perini Navi (Company)">Perini Navi</a> offices for €12 million, as corporate activities have been consolidated at the Marina di Carrara headquarters for more efficient business management.With the recent transaction involving the shipyard, combined with the disposal of the office building in 2023, the total value of the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/51" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Perini Navi (Company)">Perini Navi</a> assets in Viareggio, acquired in 2021 and subsequently disposed of by the company, amounts to €33 million.We are glad that the activities in the historic Viareggio shipyard will soon be restarted by a prestigious player in yachting, for the benefit of the local community and the entire supply chain,” concluded Giovanni Costantino“<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5565" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="The Italian Sea Group (Company)">TISG</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/51" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Perini Navi (Company)">Perini Navi</a> will maintain their presence in Viareggio with the commercial flagship and woodworking hub located in the heart of the port and inaugurated last March.”

Following the resignation of Simona Del Re as Chairwoman of the Board of Directors at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5565" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="The Italian Sea Group (Company)">The Italian Sea Group (TISG)</a> the company has announced the re-appointment of Filippo Menchelli as the new Chairman.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/337396/image/large-f73639c0abcbaeec45ac1e165d7b930f.png" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/337396">After receiving a favourable opinion from the Appointments and Remuneration Committee, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5565" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="The Italian Sea Group (Company)">TISG</a> resolved to co-opt Filippo Menchelli onto the Board of Directors. Menchelli was also given specific responsibilities over employee management and workplace safety, officially designated as the company’s Employer. Later, he became a Director of the Issuer in 2018, a role he held until June 2024, and additionally served as Chairman from May 2020 to June 2024.
