Turquoise Yachts, the builders of the 55.99-metre yacht Blue II, have granted a closer look inside the new explorer yacht during her time in Capri this year.Blue II yacht in CapriPhoto: Guillaume Plisson / Turquoise YachtsBuilt and delivered in 2020, Blue II’s appearance is reminiscent of an old-fashioned steamship, but boasts an entirely modern design and construction. The explorer yacht is Turquoise Yachts' first IMO Tier 3 compliant and ice-class yacht and is capable of taking on the Northwest Passage and polar regions with her Class 1B steel hull and ice-breaking bow.Blue II yacht cruising Photo: Guillaume Plisson / Turquoise YachtsBlue II’s classic gentleman-style appearance and her serious exploration capabilities are the result of her carefully-crafted naval architecture, a collaborative effort between Turquoise Yachts and Hoek Design. Hoek Design was also responsible for her exterior and interior designs and, as the studio’s first and only motor yacht project, their background in sailing yacht design is reflected in Blue II’s profile, horizontal lines, and curved stern.Blue II yacht exteriorPhoto: Guillaume Plisson / Turquoise YachtsThe 790 GT explorer yacht can accommodate up to 12 guests across six staterooms including an owner’s suite on the upper deck, a VIP suite on the main deck, and four guest cabins.Blue II yacht master cabin Photo: Guillaume Plisson / Turquoise YachtsBlue II yacht study room Photo: Guillaume Plisson / Turquoise YachtsHer interiors including a spacious main deck saloon, dining room and upper deck sky lounge were styled by London-based Vickers Studio and Amsterdam-based Dols and Company Interiors.
