Two 29m Sanlorenzo SD96 hulls sold to Asian owners

After being premiered at the 2019 Cannes Yachting Festival, two hulls of the Sanlorenzo SD96 have been sold to Asian owners by Simpson Marine’s Sanlorenzo Asia division. With both yachts scheduled for delivery in early 2021, one will be delivered in Hong Kong and the other in Singapore as entry level models of the Italian shipyard’s semi-displacement line to replace the SD92, which was launched in 2007 and has sold 27 units.SanLorenzo SD96 yacht exteriorPhoto: SanLorenzoThe SD96’s exterior design comes from the drawing boards of the Rome-based Zuccon International Project. The interior of the yacht due to be delivered to Hong Kong was designed by Patricia Urquiola, who has played with the concept of flexibility and modularity throughout the interior design, which can be customised and accommodate up to 10 guests and five crew. The materials, shapes and colours evoke the marine world, creating a flowing and elegant space full of natural colours,” says Patricia Urquiola.SanLorenzo SD96 yacht interiorPhoto: SanLorenzoSanLorenzo SD96 interior design The tri-deck features naval architecture designed by Philippe Briand in collaboration with Sanlorenzo’s in-house engineers. The hull’s sharp profile and vertical bow allow for exceptional performance including a range of 1,800 nautical miles when cruising at 10 knots, a cruising speed is 15 knots and a top speed of up to 20 knots. One of the two yachts has twin MTU 10V 2000 M86 engines while the other is powered by twin CAT C18 engines.SanLorenzo SD96 yacht foredeckPhoto: SanLorenzoThe SD96 was our team’s favourite new model at the Cannes Yacht Show impressing with larger volumes and smart connectivity. The SD range is very appealing to owners in Asia who wish to cruise longer distances – suddenly journeys once not possible become a reality and a new excitement to owning a yacht is born. Imagine cruising to destinations such as Raja Ampat and the Anambas Islands in Indonesia, the Mergui Archipelago in Burma or Busuanga and Palawan in the Philippines. With this yacht, it is now possible to explore the region in total comfort. At Sanlorenzo Asia we strongly believe in this model and the SD range and are sure that more sales will follow,” says Nick Stratton, Sanlorenzo Asia Sales Manager.SanLorenzo SD96 yacht exteriorPhoto: SanLorenzo
