Van der Velden Yacht Design teams up with Amels and Feadship

Written by Charl van Rooy

Together with Dutch yacht builders, Amels and Feadship, designer René van der Velden have created two new superyacht concepts for each of the yards respectively.

Based on one of Amels’ developed platforms, Van der Velden has come up with an elegant concept defined by smooth lines and generous deck spaces. The high-volume design consists of four decks with a dedicated owner’s deck and large toy storage spaces.

Together with Feadship and De Voogt Naval Architects, Van der Velden have designed a simple, cost effective yacht that will carry the Feadship stamp of quality as seen in all of their projects. The concept calls for the removal of complex tender launching systems and garage doors. Instead, this 58-metre Feadship will house a single crane to serve this purpose. This simplistic approach is applied across the entire design and will feature a functional interior layout to match.

More details about both these concepts can be expected at a later stage.
