Van Geest Design's new 60 metre fast superyacht

Pieter van Geest of Van Geest Design has sent us his latest project, a design for a 60 metre superyacht. The design brief stated fast, performance orientated and sporty looking. Judging by the design renderings we received today, we can safely say Pieter’s design ticks all of those boxes.

The smooth hull lines cut away as your eyes travel aft, as if stripping itself, to reveal a fully glazed superstructure. Two tonnes, silver for the hull and charcoal for the superstructure, create a distinctive look that introduces contrast and three dimensional shapes.

The lower deck features a relatively traditional layout. Aft one finds a large lazarette with storage for tenders and toys. Forward of the lazarette there is a spacious engineroom. Midships, four guest cabins and a full beam VIP cabin are situated. The crew area forward is spacious, and offers several service areas. From here, there is access to the lower tank deck for storage/cold rooms and additional services areas.

The main deck features a large saloon and bar, and is dedicated to entertaining. The owner’s cabin is located forward on the main deck, with a large office, cabin and en-suite bathroom with walk-in wardrobes.

The upper deck offers more entertainment options including the main dining area and another lounge. Forward of the bridge is an outside seating with plenty of space for sun bathing.

The sun deck includes an exterior sushi bar, BBQ, sun lounge, pivoting sun bathing platform with the essential Jacuzzi. Pieter explains “All deck areas are designed for guests to interact, have fun, or to find a private retreat”.

Going for a distinctive look, VGD managed to remain elegant lines and refined detailing.
