VM 80 sailing yacht taking shape at Vismara
Construction on the new Vismara VM 80 sailing yacht is underway in Viareggio where the yard has begun laminating the project’s carbon sandwich hull and deck structure. The yard teamed up with designers Micheletti + Partners from Milan for the design of the interiors on board. The project is expected to be ready for launch in 2022.
Designed for comfortable blue ocean cruising, VM 80 is defined by a classic raised deckhouse and twin steering positions that form part of a large social cockpit at the stern. A stern garage is accessed through the folding transom door where a 3-metre tender is stored.
In terms of sailing features, VM 80 comes with a retractable keel, lifting from 4 metres to 2,5 metres when entering shallow ports or cruising areas under power. The full carbon mast supports a total sail area of 280 sqm.
Inside, four cabins can accommodate up to eight guests in total, consisting of three guest staterooms and a master suite located in the bow section. A large dinette is placed amidships and takes full advantage of the bright saloon with its wrap-around window at eye level.
Vismara has another 80-footer under construction at its facilities where Momi 80 is nearing completion for a 2021 launch.
