She features his signature head-turning classic hull shape and an even more impressive sheer lines. Her profile includes teak deck houses and sheltered cockpits to create an air of classic elegance.

“This new project is a fine example of Vitters’ credo ‘Dreams are meant for dreamers. Our yachts are meant for sailors,” commented Vitters Shipyard.

Very few details have been shared about Maximus, but she is built with an aluminium hull and superstructure, is expected to have around 300 GT of interior volume and her build was supervised by Jon Barrett of Jon Barrett Associates.

Her optimised rig layout, modern wetted surface with twin rudders and lifting keel from Southern Spars and Doyle Sails will contribute to her performance. Maximus is currently the fourth largest yacht built by the Netherlands-based builder.Vitters 3090 yacht hull turning in-buildPhoto: Guy FleuryWhen in cruising mode, Maximus has extensive deck spaces for leisure and is able to carry a wide array of tenders, amenities and sun protection for the guests’ enjoyment. There is also ample space to relax and dine in the two cockpits or alfresco on her deck.

When in racing mode, a removable bow sprit is deployed, jib tacks are lowered and the Vitters hydraulic system is ramped up for performance sailing. With remote control transceivers, the race trimmers can position themselves in the best positions for trimming while removing congestion near the helm.

Maximus features a 700V peak shaving electrical installation for improved efficiency and reduced fuel burn, two powered sail drums in the forepeak for easy headsail stowage and Vitters' submarine anchor system that keeps the bow and foredeck aesthetically clean as well as providing reduced weight and practical handling.
