Parisian design studio Van Peteghem Lauriot Provost (VPLP) unveiled a new 100-foot sloop concept named Ampersand. As a modern take on a classic cruiser, Ampersand offers clients a performance experience with a touch of class.
The project is named after the ‘&’ symbol and signifies the design’s combination of both the competitive and cruising worlds. Marc van Peteghem explains how the studio arrived at this concept:“Our starting point was the work we didforComanche. For instance, she features a mast set further aft to inject more drive into the sail plan, a towering mainsail and a powerful fore-triangle, as well as a chined hull.”
These performance aspects were then embellished with a deck layout that will facilitate efficient manoeuvres, but also support the comfortable family lifestyle for which the yacht is intended for.
