The Dutch design studio Vripack® is responsible for this 45m Displacement Motor Yacht’s interior styling, the second of the series being built by Timmerman Yachts in Moscow. The design brief for the interior was clear and straightforward, the Russian Owner asked for an elegant, simple, yet sophisticated and chic decor.
As he is interested in an uncomplicated yacht interior which displays more than the decorators thrive to be inventive with materials, Vripack’s interior designers created an interior using materials which not only complement each other color wise, but also create an interesting interaction with the selectively applied LED lighting. Overall a careful balance is made between glossy textures and rough materials. Besides the look, also the ‘feeling’ of the textures is very significant to the owner, especially from the practical point of view, as sitting on a glossy leather sofa when wearing shorts can be very uncomfortable.
For the cabinets, soft furnishing and recesses, Vripack’s skilled designers have focused on using stitched leather, velour, suede and silk. Rough materials like textured metal, white wash mahogany and stained beech have been selected for the joinery. This synergy creates a sophisticated atmosphere without being over-glamorous.
In the main salon, the glass showcase appears to ‘float’ in the room as it is surrounded by indirect lighting which casts light on the floor and ceiling. While the raised, 100% silk, overheads are bordered with beech and stitched leather framings, the silk carpets in the salon are bordered with the identical stained oak which has been applied for the dining room floor.
Vripack’s design team chose Promemoria furniture and lighting for this unique design as their craftsmanship provides the perfect match with the striking interior colors and stitched leather details. The Owner’s collection of traditional and contemporary art perfectly blends in this colorful interior providing that finishing touch to a harmonious atmosphere.
