The Dutch studio developed the design from a brainstorming session about the environmental problems relating to yachts and more importantly the waste they create. Utopia at Sea has been designed to leave a small environmental footprint that is as harmless and as faint as that left by a human walking along a sandy beach.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/226197/image/large-479eeac21f30fe8937d10d3288ee179e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/226197">Utopia at Sea uses a nature-inspired air purifier that separates oxygen from carbon to create a design that revolves around a reduced environmental impact. “We connected our award winning diesel-electric propulsion system to 4 nature-inspired air purifying units and visibly attached the entire system to an on-board park providing it with clean air.” said <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/15" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Vripack (Company)">Vripack</a>’s senior designer Robin de Vries. The first is a semi-open space of 320 square-meters on the main deck, with opening terraces, extendable to 400 square-meters, and with a gym and beach club aft. She features a high volume normally found on larger yachts, with her interior design penned by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/473" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Overmarine Group SPA (Company)">Overmarine</a>'s technical department, alongside her owner.The first hull in the Mangusta Oceano 39 yacht series boasts floor-to-ceiling windows of her main and upper decks, which can be opened to seamlessly blend her interior and exterior spaces.&nbsp;Her aft area includes foldable terraces to provide direct access with the water, as well as providing guests with total relaxation in utmost privacy.
