Vulkan Shipyard’s nautical training school trains crew for yachts

Vulkan Shipyard S.L. has started its Nautical Training School, a pioneering model in Europe with an emphasis on the training of high quality human resources in the fields of naval construction and particularly specializing itself in the world of yachts.

The first course that will be taught in the school, starting on the 3rd of March, will be on Yacht Crew Training. The course is aimed for professionals from the navigation sector, yacht crew, professionals of the hotel and catering business who want to specialize themselves in working on yachts.

This initiative will try to face the big demand that exists of about 3.000 positions for crew on yachts, in addition to the numerous yachts over 25 meters which are under construction.

Being both theoretical and practical, this course has a complete syllabus organized in independent units on security training, protocol and services on board, navigation and maneuver concepts, yacht maintenance and English.

Naval engineers, captains of both yachts and the Merchant Navy as well as professionals with a vast experience in protocol will be in charge of teaching the pupils, who will obtain a private certificate and will also be included in the crew members database that Vulkan Shipyard makes available to shipowners.

The school is located on the first floor of the shipyard’s industrial building in Puerto de Sagunto (Valencia), and has its own access and car park. It takes up a total area of 800 m2 and has three classrooms which can hold up to 20 people each, as well as three workshops.
