Wally launches 2 new sailing yachts

In just 15 days, two of the three new superyachts scheduled to be delivered before the summer, have been successfully launched by WallyEurope: the breakthrough Wally 130 The Dream and the Wally 101 Indio.

The Dream is a high performance megayacht characterised by the water ballast combined with the trim tab lifting keel. This movable ballast combination has been selected by Wally Research & Development department to optimise safety and performance in such a large yacht: the 11-ton (24,251 lbs) water ballast improves the stability of the light displacement boat (only 84 tons - 185,200 lbs) while the 6-meter deep keel with trim tab improves the lift. The draft can be reduced to 4 meters to allow the access to ports and bays.

The deck is similar to that of Esense, characterised by the bulwark leaving the hull lines pure while offering more privacy and protection. The layout recalls a city loft building: it is a continuous uncluttered area. The stern features the so-called Terrace on the sea. The 40-meter (130-foot) sloop will start the sea trials mid May, and the delivery is scheduled for the beginning of June.

After only two weeks from this launching, the 30-meter sloop Wally 101 touched the water after the owner’s wife successfully smashed the champagne bottle on the keel fin. The new Indio replaces the Wally 80 of the same passionate and experienced owner, and combines the further developed hull lines of the highly acclaimed Y3K, with the deck and interior layouts of the previous Indio with the Terrace on the sea and the aft salon.

The Wally 101 features all the characteristics of a round-the-world high performance cruiser that can comfortably accommodate the owner’s family with little children.

The result is a “family friendly” blue water performance yacht with on deck a social cockpit where the young kids can safely enjoy open-air, and inside the children and the nanny cabins. The interior styling combines teak wood with ecru fabric resulting light and contemporary yet cozy. After the delivery to the client, the new Indio will sail to Porto Cervo, and participate in the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta. The owner’s family will then spend the summer cruise sailing in the Greek islands.

The third superyacht to leave the WallyEurope shipyard is the new Wally 100.3 Y3K, scheduled to be launched in the second half of May.
