One of the latest Wally’s out on the water today is the 33-metre high-performance sailing yacht Barong D. Built for an experienced owner and launch in 2016, Barong D is a replacement for the owner’s previous yachts named Barong B and Barong C. Developed by Frers Naval Architects, the yacht is designed as the studio’s latest generation of high-performance superyachts characterised by a wide hull. The yacht is packed with modern-day technology developed by Wally’s in-house R&amp;D team such as the Wally submarine anchor and a rig with swept back spreaders and no running backstays. Here she is seen in her home port of Valetta.

Suave and sophisticated but also welcoming and family-friendly, the colour palette in the main saloon and dining room, which take advantage of the full 9.6-metre beam, is based on aquamarine and ivory soft furnishings combined with warm wood veneers, natural leathers and full-height windows for exceptional light and panoramic views. The changes mean that Project Venus shares only the same technical and engineering specifications with her predecessors in the series. A noteworthy addition is the “shark tooth” motif, a design feature halfway along the side of the bridge deck that lends the yacht a powerful personality.
