The new model will join the wallywhy range alongside the larger wallywhy150 and wallywhy200.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/252036/image/large-53fb6f24820fa77b17c19ace4f4bf5dd.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/252036">The wallywhy100 yacht establishes a strong connection between her interior and exterior spaces, with exterior design and naval architecture by the combined experience of the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/166" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Wally (Company)">Wally</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/361" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ferretti Yachts (Company)">Ferretti</a> Group Engineering teams. She is able to combine all the qualities of a 60-70 foot coupé boat with the benefits of the wallywhy volume.“The wallywhy100 was born from a gap in the market. Whilst beautiful and sleek, traditional coupés do not offer the comfort and livability that today’s owners expect from their boats. Vallicelli &amp; C</a> and is characterised by a one-level, stern-to-bow layout. This results in a hybrid area on the main deck level which can either be enjoyed closed, or fully open to enable relaxed al-fresco dining.“The yacht’s appearance is 100 percent derived from her function,” commented Luca Bassani, Founder and Chief Designer at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/166" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Wally (Company)">Wally</a>. “She stands out from other market offerings, due to her strengthening of the relationship between functionality and performance. She is also equipped with a swim ladder for easy access to the water. With more details due to be announced during the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Event/224" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Monaco Yacht Show - 2024">Monaco Yacht Show 2024</a>, her name is inspired by the chemical symbol for carbon – the fundamental element that forms diamonds – paying homage to both the material and the anniversary milestone of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/29" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Feadship (Company)">Feadship</a>.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/328257/image/large-e0a745afcb5157120c3cc4d705303e0d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/328257">Designed by Ruud Bakker and Tanno Weeda, C draws inspiration from the patterns that are formed when light reflects and magnifies from the cut of a diamond, with her profile mimicking this with mesmerising angles. Images of the yacht are yet to be revealed, but <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/29" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Feadship (Company)">Feadship</a> describes the yacht as having “an unforgettable profile” and “broad expanses of glass.”Due to her expansive use of glass, the interiors of C are illuminated by natural light, to create a fluid living space for guests onboard. The exterior design of C also blurs the lines between her decks, with her fore and aft sections offset by a half-level to create a smooth transition between each space.Other design innovations onboard C are the partially enclosed lower deck sea lounge that can be used at anchor or underway, a beach club with sea-level dining, a duplex owner’s suite and an articulating crow’s nest rising from a private observation deck.In terms of exterior deck spaces, C is equipped with a pair of infinity-edge hexagonal pools, which aim to match the shapes of her various seating arrangements and atrium. “There’s nothing rough about this diamond in <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/29" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Feadship (Company)">Feadship</a>’s concept collection,” explained <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/29" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Feadship (Company)">Feadship</a>. “As with all <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/29" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Feadship (Company)">Feadship</a> concept yachts, C is completely researched and buildable.”&nbsp;C will also showcase Feadship’s next evolution in adaptive technology, with a command centre positioned on the lower deck between her crew area and beach club. This new model will be the first of the Akhir line to hit the market. This line features recognisable elements like strip windows, “shark-like” decoration on the bow, and horizontal-grid air intakes. These hallmark features remain intact in the Akhir 44, creating a strong link between past and present.Key to the Akhir 44’s design is its lightweight carbon fibre composite hull and superstructure, built using a vacuum-moulding process. The yacht features an innovative EHPH Power Fin hull, which is designed for improved performance and fuel efficiency. Still presided over by the original founder Matjaž Murko today, the company now represents several brands of the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4876" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ferretti Group (Company)">Ferretti Group</a> and operates across various Central and Eastern European countries, with a strong presence along the Adriatic coast.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/328602/image/large-f0b53309825f90cea989c7c504d55069.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/328602">What led to your entry into the yachting industry?I was born in Germany and moved to Slovenia in 1972 when I was ten years old. Shortly thereafter, I joined a well-known sailing club in Slovenia named Pirate. From a young age, I exhibited an entrepreneurial spirit; my first venture was founding a windsurfing school with a friend, catering to tourists on the beach. It's important to note the geographic significance of Slovenia, which is bordered by Italy to the west and Croatia to the south and east. Slovenia attracts many visitors from the Czech Republic and other Eastern European countries. Additionally, our linguistic similarities foster a welcoming environment for these tourists.This early experience further fueled my interest in the nautical industry, which prompted me to explore additional opportunities. My breakthrough came at the Genoa Boat Show in 1994, where I discovered the Pershing brand. Just a few months later, I signed a contract with the shipyard and acquired two yachts, a 60-footer and a 70-footer and began actively promoting Pershing in the Adriatic.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/328599/image/large-fe3e86a9dd94651ebd8b14f1582ea966.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/328599">Could you elaborate on your close ties with various Ferretti Group brands and how it came to be that you represented them?In 1998, following <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/584" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Pershing S.p.a. (Company)">Pershing</a>'s acquisition by the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4876" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ferretti Group (Company)">Ferretti Group</a>, Pershing recommended us as a dealer for <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4876" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ferretti Group (Company)">Ferretti Group</a> brands in Austria, Slovenia, and other parts of Europe. We promptly signed the contract and officially started our dealership with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4876" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ferretti Group (Company)">Ferretti</a> in 2000. As the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4876" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ferretti Group (Company)">Ferretti Group</a> expanded and integrated brands such as Riva, we also began representing them in our markets.Currently, we represent all <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4876" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ferretti Group (Company)">Ferretti Group</a> brands, except for CRN and Wally, across several regions. Our markets include Austria, Germany (specifically clients in the Adriatic region for <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/361" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ferretti Yachts (Company)">Ferretti Yachts</a>, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/584" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Pershing S.p.a. (Company)">Pershing</a>, and Itama), the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Albania. Over the past twenty years, these countries have seen economic development, though they still face certain challenges. Despite our wide geographic reach, we encounter specific local preferences. In Hungary for example, there is a strong preference for conducting business in Hungarian. As a result we maintain an office in Budapest to accommodate this need, despite its landlocked location. We also have an office in Prague, Czech Republic, and one in Belgrade, Serbia. These different locations allow us to offer bespoke services, adapted to the local business culture.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/328598/image/large-821263695bb15703bea192a6f86d08b3.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/328598">What strategies did MennYacht employ to successfully expand into Eastern European marketsFrom the outset, establishing comprehensive services was crucial, encompassing not only yacht sales but also dedicated maintenance and support. When operations began, back in 1994, sourcing essential components such as generator impellers posed significant challenges. Damage to an impeller could disable the entire generator, disrupting critical onboard functions, including cooking, yet obtaining these components was complicated by supply distribution issues. Indeed, Slovenia and Croatia were not part of the European Union at that time, leading to intricate customs and logistics scenarios.To address these challenges, we significantly expanded our service network, which now covers all major marinas and key cruising locations along the Adriatic coast. Thanks to our local network and expertise, we are known for our rapid response times, a fact acknowledged by our clients and competitors alike.Our team comprises highly experienced professionals, some of whom have been with us for 15-20 years. With the increasing complexity of yachts due to advanced technology and design features, it is imperative to stay at the forefront of service excellence. These occasions allow us to engage deeply with our clientele in a setting that highlights both our latest offerings and our rich legacy. Moreover, we hosted a similar event last year where we invited all our clients and provided entertainment with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5733" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Technohull (Company)">Technohull</a> luxury RIBs, for which we are also the official regional dealers.These events, along with our yearly magazine and our 30th anniversary book, significantly enhance client engagement. Crucially, they also provide us with deeper insights into our clients' perspectives, such as whether they are considering acquiring a new yacht because their current one is becoming outdated or too small. To be successful in today's market, it is not enough to be a dealer; a 360-degree approach is required.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/328597/image/large-1a06b306801dedc5024d56cc19d873f5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/328597"> Any future plans you would like to unveil?In recent years, we've significantly advanced our marketing efforts, collaborating with media companies and promoting our 30th anniversary. Despite these successes, we recognise areas that require further improvement.Currently, like many in the industry, we face a shortage of skilled labour, particularly mechanics and electricians. The growth of our fleet has outpaced our staffing capabilities, highlighting the critical need to balance the number of yachts with employee recruitment to enhance our operations.Moreover, we have been improving our technological capabilities by investing in software programs that aim to more efficiently understand the yachts clients desire. This will better facilitate our sales strategies and improve our ability to track client inquiries and preferences. For instance, if a client expressed interest in a specific type of superyacht a year ago, these new systems will allow us to process that information more quickly and accurately. We have a dedicated team, much like a family, where each member, including my son, plays a crucial role. Together, we are committed to continuing our legacy for many more years to come.
