Northrop and Johnson Luxury Collection is proud to announce Wes Sanford has joined Northrop and Johnson’s sales team as a broker.
Having grown up in Juneau, Alaska, Wes has been on and around boats since he was 5 years old. After graduating from high school, he attended Stanford University and graduated with a Quantitative Economics degree in 1989. After several years of business experience, he decided to travel as a PADI scuba instructor and moved to Central America to begin exploring the rest of the world. After many dives and boat excursions, he obtained his captain's license and subsequently immersed himself in professional yachting as a mate, engineer, and ultimately a captain. This experience was accrued aboard various yachts, including Mylin IV, Bon Bon, Twilight, High Cotton, and Alegria.
After 12 years, he retired from the bridge with a 500-ton USCG Master's license and became a broker with Allied Richard Bertram in early 2005. The date of this transition coincides with the birth of his daughter, Charlotte, who keeps both Wes & Kelly quite busy at home. Kelly Sanford's name will be well-known to US readers as a well qualified contributing editor for several fine yachting magazines.
Following a successful 18 month tour at Merrill-Stevens Yachts, Wes has arrived at Northrop and Johnson eager to utilize his experience and extensive knowledge of the marine industry to assist clients in their yachting decisions. Through Northrop and Johnson’s expanded network of offices in the U.S. and Europe, Wes is poised to direct his clients with confidentiality, integrity and unparallel dedication.
