Italian shipyard Wider Yachts unveiled their latest superyacht project ahead of the 2015 Yacht and Brokerage Show in Miami this week, the Wider 125. Built in aluminium, the 38 metre superyacht is designed by Fulvio de Simoni, who was also responsible for the design of several other Wider vessels, including the Wider 150 and Wider 165. The 125 benefits from the same diesel electric technology as seen in the rest of the Wider family, improving fuel economy, range and reliability.
Accommodation on board is provided for guests over four luxurious en suite staterooms in addition to the opulent owner’s suite on the main deck. Crew are accommodated over three twin cabins as well as an ample Captain’s cabin next to the wheelhouse. All cabins for guests and crew are notably spacious due to the placing of the electrical control room in the bow, therefore freeing up volume in the aft quarter of the vessel. Two different layout options are offered for the location of the galley in a bid to cater to regional preferences between the US and European markets.
The main deck saloon enjoys uninterrupted panoramic views thanks to the position of the bulwarks and the floor to ceiling windows, also working to create a light and airy environment inside. On the upper deck, aft of the wheelhouse, a sky lounge leads out to an inviting aft deck. Sliding full height glass panels can divide the two areas when desired or be opened in order to create an impressive inside/outside sun deck, ideal for entertaining.
Outside, the 125’s spaces dedicated to relaxation is vast, with the entire upper aft deck being reserved for sun loungers and exterior furniture only. Forward of the wheelhouse, a large seating recess is carved into the superstructure, whilst the stern garage opens and the aft swimming platform extends to create a plunge pool and expansive beach club. A tender garage is located forward with the capacity to stow a 5.5 metre tender along with two jet skis and a MOB tender fits comfortably on deck.
She has a top speed of 14 knots and a range of 2,600 nm at 12 knots, and 3,600 nm at 10 knots. She can also be run solely by using batteries in her zero emission mode.
In addition to revealing the Wider 125’ project, Wider Yachts also made another announcement at the show in Miami, and have appointed Jeremy Roche - known as the face of Boat International Magazine - as the brand’s new Sales and Marketing Director.
