Winners of the World Superyacht Awards

The 2015 edition of the prestigious World Superyacht Awards returned to Amsterdam, the Netherlands on 9th May for a glamorous evening spent rewarding the best superyachts of the past year in a total of 18 categories. Judged by a panel predominantly consisting of owners, here is the complete list of winners.

Motor Yacht of the Year: Grace E - Measuring 73 metres in length, Grace E was built by Perini Navi at their Picchiotti shipyard and launched from their facilities in Viareggio in September 2013. She features naval architecture and exterior design by Philippe Briand in cooperation with Vitruvius, whilst Rémi Tessier Design undertook her interior design.

Sailing Yacht of the Year: WinWin - Built by the Finnish shipyard Baltic Yachts, the 33.04 metre sloop WinWin was launched in May 2014. She features naval architecture and exterior design by Javier Jaudenes of Surge Projects, with Design Unlimited responsible for her interior design.

Displacement Motor Yacht of 1,300GT to 2,999GT of 75m and Above: Kismet - Built by the German shipyard Lürssen Yachts and completed in 2014, the 95.20 metre Kismet’s exterior design comes from Espen Oeino International. Reymond Langton Design undertook her interior design.

Displacement Motor Yacht of 1,300GT to 2,999GT of Below 75m: Grace E - taking her second award of the night is the 73 metre Grace E.

Displacement Motor Yacht of 500GT to 1,299GT: MySky - The 51.10 metre MySky was built by Heesen Yachts and launches from their facilities in Oss, the Netherlands, in May 2014. Van Oossanen were responsible for her naval architecture in cooperation with Heesen, with Omega Architects undertaking her exterior styling and Erick van Egeraat working on her interior design.

Displacement Motor Yacht of Below 500GT of 44m and Above: Elena - Delivered to her owners in summer 2014, the 47 metre superyacht Elena was built by Heesen Yachts and was designed in her entirety by Heesen Yachts, who collaborated with Omega Architects on both her interior and exterior design.

Displacement Motor Yacht of Below 500GT of 30m to 43.99m: Onika - Measuring 39.62 metres, Onika was built by the U.S. shipyard Delta Marine and launched in June 2014. She features naval architecture, interior and exterior design by Delta Design Group.

Semi-displacement or Planing Two-deck Motor Yacht of 38m and Above: Como - Now named Lady May after being sold to new owners in March this year, the 46.22 metre superyacht Como was built by the Dutch shipyard Feadship in 2014. The all aluminium yacht features naval architecture and exterior design by Dubois Naval Architects, with British studio Redman Whitely Dixon responsible for her interior design.

Semi-displacement or Planing Two-deck Motor Yacht of 30m to 37.99m: Nono - Launched in summer 2014, the 37.3 metre superyacht Nono was built by the Italian shipyard Admiral, part of The Italian Sea Group. Naval architecture was undertaken in-house. Admiral Centro Stile collaborated with Luca Dini Design on her exteriors, and Gian Marco Campanino on her interiors.

Semi-displacement or Planing Three-deck Motor Yacht of Above 40m: Polaris - Built by Rossi Navi and launched in March 2014, the 48.29 metre superyacht Polaris features naval architecture by Arrabito Naval Architects. Team 4 Design were responsible for both her interior and exterior design.

Semi-displacement or Planing Three-deck Motor Yacht of 30m to 40m: So’Mar - Measuring 37.60 metres, So’Mar was lauched by the Turkish shipyard Tansu Yachts in summer 2014. Built with a wooden hull and superstructure, she features naval architecture by Diana Yacht Design. Her interior and exterior design were undertaken by by the in-house team at Tansu.

Sailing Yacht of 45m and Above: Wisp - The 47.65 metre all-aluminium sloop Wisp was built by another Dutch shipyard, this time Royal Huisman. She features naval architecture and exterior design by Hoek Design Naval Architects, whilst Rhoades Young Design was responsible for her her interiors.

Sailing Yacht of 30m to 44.99m: WinWin - Built by Baltic Yachts, this is the second awarded for the sailing yacht WinWin in the 2015 World Superyacht Awards.

Refitted Yacht (tie for first place): Amore Mio 2 and Alumercia - Both superyachts Amore Mio 2 and Alumercia have been awarded a joint first place for the best refitted yacht.

Amore Mio 2 (ex: Sea Jewel) was completed in 1997 by Abeking & Rasmussen, with Espen Oeino delivering the naval architecture, Abeking & Rasmussen the exterior design, and Luigi Sturchio the interior design. She was refitted at the CPN shipyard. The all-aluminium Alumercia was originally built in 2000 by Heesen Yachts, and features naval architecture by Vripack, exterior design done in-house, and interior design from Omega Architects. She underwent her refit at Borancilli Marine.

Rebuilt Yacht: Ancallia - Ancallia was originally completed by Feadship in 1984, with naval architecture and exterior design by De Voogt Naval Architects. The 45.77 metre vessel was rebuilt at Atlas Shipyard.

Quality & Value: Farfalla - The 31.7 metre sailing yacht Farfalla was built by the South African shipyard Southern Wind in 2014. Naval architecture is by Farr Yacht Design, with Nauta Yachts undertaking both her interior and exterior design.

Legacy Award: Lord Irvine Laidlaw - Lord Irvine Laidlaw is a Scottish businessman who was a former member of the House of Lords. The Legacy Award honours an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the superyacht industry over many years.

Voyager’s Award: Arctic P - Built by the German shipyard Schichau Unterweser in 1969, the 87.58 metre Arctic P features exterior design by Kusch Yachts. The Voyager’s Award recognises an owner that has made extensive use of his yacht in long distance voyaging and exploration over the past few years.
