59m converted Amels explorer yacht Akula sold
This week, Edmiston confirmed the sale of the 59-metre yacht Akula. The brokerage firm worked alongside Serafim Papadopoulos of SSH Maritime to complete the deal.Originally built in 1974 by Amels as a pilot vessel, Akula was converted into an explorer yacht by Vosper Thornycorft in 1999. During this time, Akula was refitted to accommodate professional helicopter operations thanks to a new flight deck and helicopter hangar and her long-range cruising capabilities were enhanced. She can reach a top speed of 13.5 knots or a cruising speed of 11 knots.
Inside, the explorer yacht has space to accommodate up to 10 guests in five staterooms including a master suite, two large double staterooms and two twins, all with en suite bathroom facilities. She also has space for up to 17 crew onboard.
