Since being handed over to her Mexican owner in time for Christmas last year, the 46.95-metre motor yacht Bacchanal has been busy cruising through Caribbean and Mediterranean waters. In doing so, she has been showing off her understated exterior lines by Benetti with only a fleeting glance at the interiors of Mauricio Gómez de Tuddo and the Benetti Interior Style Department. Curious to see more, SuperYacht Times was granted a closer look at what the design team put together for Bacchanal's owner and his large family.

Photo: Quin Bisset / BenettiThe owner, a repeat client of Benetti after building a Benetti Classic 115 in 2015, came back to the shipyard for another family-friendly superyacht project. With a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure housing four decks, the uniform interior style of each deck was made with no boundaries between the indoor and outdoor spaces, as per the request of the owner.

The choice of teak decking outside is reflected in the fine wengé parquet in the main lounge, the owner’s bathroom, the captain’s cabin and the skylounge. The dark wood is said to work as a cooling contrast against the hot climates the yacht continues to cruise in.

Photo: Quin Bisset / BenettiIn a similar style to the owner's family homes, materials such as Thassos marble were a firm favourite and can be found in all of the guest bathrooms. The furniture plays on combinations of materials and colours with a dominating use of teak and shades of metallic grey that is reminiscent of parts of the superstructure.

Photo: Quin Bisset / BenettiSix cabins provide accommodation for up to 12 people including the owner, whose dedicated full-beam suite on the main deck features a private study and a veranda which is accessed via a frameless sliding glass door.

Photo: Quin Bisset / BenettiOn the lower deck, two VIP and two guest cabins can be found, with a third VIP cabin on the upper deck, along with the high-tech wheelhouse and an indoor-outdoor lounge area. The sundeck is home to a custom swimming pool in the bow area, a lounge area and dining table which can be served to directly from the deck’s dumb waiter.

Her safety equipment on board includes a 3D sonar system to identify objects or obstacles in the surrounding sea.
