Horizon Yachts has announced the launch of the latest hull in its fast displacement series: the 28.36-metre FD92 yacht Crowned Eagle, now due to be delivered to her experienced American owner in October following sea trials.Photo: Horizon YachtsAs the Series' first ever tri-deck design, Crowned Eagle features both an interior pilothouse and an open flybridge designed by Cor D. Rover. The design for the vessel stems from her experienced owner's request for a configuration change to the FD87 layout, incorporating both a protected interior helm station and the option for al fresco navigation through a lightweight carbon fibre flybridge. The foredeck comes complete with a six-person Jacuzzi, curved seating and sunpads. For when the sun is too intense, guests can also make the most of the custom foredeck shade system, or retreat to the enclosed skylounge.Photo: Horizon YachtsPhoto: Horizon YachtsGuests can also make the most of numerous entertainment and relaxation areas, including the beach club and the fully equipped bar on the main deck. The aft deck offers formal dining for up to 10, with a bar found starboard and a large sofa aft.
Notably, the superstructure design led to a proportionate hull modification, giving her an LOA of 28.36 metres and allowing her spacious beach club/swim platform and watersports area to be extended. Power to Crowned Eagle is provided by twin Caterpillar C-32 ACERT 1,900hp engines, with plans for her to provide island-friendly cruising throughout the Caribbean and Bahamas for her new owners.
