Classic 1954 yacht Istros rebuild completed

Feadship has completed the 42.06-metre yacht Istros after an extensive 17-month rebuild project. First launched by the Amsterdam Shipyard Ltd. of Gerard de Vries Lentsch Jr. in 1954, Istros has reemerged as an eco and charter-friendly superyacht with brand-new Van Geest Design interiors.  Istros yacht at Feadship De Vries shipyardPhoto: FeadshipIstros yacht at Feadship De Vries shipyardPhoto: FeadshipThe works stretched to redesigning the interior layout to free up enough space for four staterooms on the lower deck and a main-deck owner's suite. The guest areas are said to have been decorated in a contemporary Scandinavian style with loose rugs instead of fitted carpets throughout. With 600 hp CAT engines, Istros has a top speed of approximately 14 knots and a range of 3,500nm at 12 knots, which increases to  5,000nm at an economical speed of 9 knots.
