Columbus Yachts has successfully launched and completed the first sea trials of its new 49.5-metre yacht K2 in Ancona. As part of the yard's Sport 50 (S50) line designed by Luca Dini Design, the new yacht was commissioned by a repeat client with several customisations. K2 was built with naval engineering by Palumbo Superyachts in collaboration with Hydro Tec and is able to accommodate up to 11 guests in five staterooms. The 499 GT superyacht also has space for 11 crew.
Powered by twin 2,600hp MTU engines, K2 can reach a top speed of 21.5 knots, a cruising speed of 17 with a long-range for transoceanic passages. During sea trials, the yacht exceeded her performance expectations and achieved extremely low noise levels in the guest cabins at 85% of maximum engine power at a speed slightly above 20 knots.
