The 49.2-metre expedition yacht Karima (ex: Maupiti) has joined the sales market after a successful period with two different owners since her launch in 1993. Her classic interior, by US-based designer Peter Marino, provides accommodation for up to 12 guests in five staterooms. The master suite, located on its own private deck, features a β€˜his and hers’ bathroom and a gym located aft. Guests can retreat into either of two double staterooms or two twin rooms with extra Pullman berth, all of which have ensuite bathrooms. Wide windows brighten the room and allow guests to enjoy the sea view while dining or lounging in the salon. With the fore section decks of Karima a mid-level higher than the aft deck, the helideck is safely positioned and furthermore enables a lower engine room placement and a better general flow of movement throughout the yacht. The upper deck of Karima is arranged to provide guests with the utmost privacy as they lounge on the sun deck and is completed with ample outdoor sunbathing areas that simultaneously act as storage covers.Β 

Designed for global cruising in all weather conditions, Karima also benefits from a large tender-keeping capacity. Starboard aft of the main deck, Karima carries an 8.8-metre custom-built aluminium/RIB Mostrino tender powered by a 440hp Yanmar motor with Hamilton Jetdrive. The 10 person tender can provide shelter in the fore cabin and allows for daylong explorations thanks to its 500-mile range. On the helicopter deck, an additional 8.5-metre Technomarine GRP/RIB tender with Yanmar ZT 350 sterndrive can be stored in chocks. At an economical speed of 10 knots with a 20% fuel reserve, Karima has a transatlantic range of 3,900 nautical miles.Β
