The 41.1-metre Legenda is considered by some to be one of the most versatile and unique superyachts to leave the Mondomarine shed. Beyond her graceful Cor D. Rover Design exterior lines, Legenda impresses with an interior volume of 360 GT that promises a rich onboard experience to all. Legenda is now for sale with Imperial and, having lived a reputable life cruising in the Mediterranean, awaits a new owner who is passionate about Italian design and is on the lookout for a voluminous 40-metre superyacht that is a great investment for both leisure and business.Completed in 2009 to the naval architecture designs of Italian duo Mondomarine and Sydac s.r.l. as part of the Limited Edition series, Legenda epitomises Italian design excellence. From her soft grey hull to the timeless interior design by the Firenze-based designer Luca Dini, Legenda exudes a feeling of homeliness and opulence at every turn. To further enhance the comfort of her guests onboard, Legenda underwent a refit in 2016 - which was supervised by Luca Dini himself - that notably brightened and refreshed her look. By utilising his role as a designer to benefit the refit project, Luca Dini was able to “create environments that are harmonious and beautiful,” whilst remaining sensitive to the existing style. As the designer explains: “In order to achieve the desired result, we replaced the damaged burl wood panels and the fabric panels with brighter, textured galuchat panels. Furthermore, the ceiling dome was enhanced with 8x8 gold leaves put together by a specialised artisan from Florence. The free-standing furniture was replaced with more contemporary pieces by Visionnaire and Fendi, and we added Baldi chandeliers.””We also intervened in the décor and used some of the more classical images of Massimo Listri and exposed them in a modern way: with no glass, no traditional frame, but used the original panels as frames instead,” he adds. Dini continues: “For the outdoor areas we chose the Summit teak line free-standing furniture and new upholstery that would give Legenda a younger look. We also selected a different marble for the countertops.” Soft velvet furnishings can now be found throughout the yacht and the re-balanced colours emit a style which Luca Dini describes as “classical-modern, with mirrors and light colours collaborating to make the perception of the space wider.” “Legenda is an extremely comfortable, liveable boat, with well lit and airy interior spaces,” Dini continues. “We have always paid great attention to the layout and maximised the communication between the interior and exterior in order to best make use of the spaces without saturating the volume,” Dini explains. Having embarked on her journey as a charter yacht approximately 18 months prior to her refit, Legenda and her design and configuration have catered especially to families and larger groups. Legenda’s broker Alex Kaev and Eric Lepeingle, head of Sales & Charter at Imperial, agreed that “she is the perfect charter boat; not too large for a family where the kids could get lost, yet big enough to relax, chill and enjoy the luxurious surroundings during your voyage.”Up to ten guests can be welcomed onboard Legenda who are taken care of by a highly skilled and experienced crew of seven. Guests can enjoy the sundeck Jacuzzi, unwind along any one of her three decks, and are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing one of her many watersport toys: as well as two GP100 Jetsurfs, Legenda can house Jet Skis, Seabobs, a five-metre tender, wakeboards, paddleboards, kayaks and various other inflatable toys. The all-aluminium Legenda also has an excellent performance record at sea as her twin MTU 12V 396 TE94 diesel-fuelled engines with 2253hp each enable her to reach up to 19 knots and cruise at 14 knots. With a fuel capacity of 50,000 litres and a freshwater capacity of 8,500 litres, cruising at an economical speed of 11 knots gives Legenda a transatlantic range of 3,000 nautical miles. “In her range, on today’s brokerage market, very few vessels can compete,” Imperial concludes.
