New 38m sailing yacht concept MM38 from Malcolm Mckeon Yacht Design
Malcolm Mckeon Yacht Design has unveiled a new 38-metre sailing yacht concept, MM38, in collaboration with Ocean Independence. Designed as a sloop-rigged sailing yacht, MM38 can accommodate up to eight guests in four suites as well as a crew of six.A reconfigured interior arrangement allows for a fourth guest cabin in what would usually be space for only three; this feature increases the charter appeal of the MM38 concept.
Malcolm McKeon says: “A new-build yacht of this size and pedigree has not been seen for many years, and Ocean Independence have identified a clear gap in the market for a vessel of this kind, particularly with regard to charter.”
The MM38 is equipped with a fold-down terrace allowing direct access to equipment stowed in the lazarette, a side boarding ladder and side-hull platform for easy access to and from tenders and a 6-metre tender well that converts into a sunken dining cockpit with optional sunshade.
The hull is a development of the design used for MMYD’s other yachts 32.5-metre Ribelle and 34-metre Liara. See more details about Ribelle in an interview with her owner here, and take a look on board Liara here.
