The design for Heesen's latest 59-metre custom project SkyFall is now taking shape as the Dutch shipyard began construction on 1 October on the lead up to her 2023 delivery. Making the owner's brief a reality are Omega Architects and interior designer Harrison Eidsgaard who, along with the team at Heesen, have estimated that the yacht will be capable of a top speed of 37 knots.Heesen Project Skyfall keel laying in Oss Photo: Heesen YachtsSet to be Heesen’s most powerful yacht to date, SkyFall is to be fitted with waterjet propulsion on a platform inspired by sportfisher yachts. Up to 22,000 hp will be generated from four MTU 20V 4000 engines with four Kongsberg S90 waterjets and Tier III drive steerable jets. Waterjet drives help to lower the yacht’s draught to less than 3 metres and reduce vibration and three gyro-stabilisers will keep the yacht comfortable.Heesen Project Skyfall keel laying in Oss Photo: Heesen YachtsSporting a lightweight aluminium Fast Displacement Hull Form complete with course fins and interceptor trim plates, the 900 GT yacht has enough volume for five staterooms and ten overnight guests. While the owner is allocated the bridge deck aft with a large suite, private terrace, whirlpool spa and lounge, the remaining staterooms are located on the lower deck.Heesen Project Skyfall keel laying in Oss Photo: Heesen YachtsOn the main deck, guests will be able to find a lounge and alfresco dining area on the aft terrace that are connected by sliding doors. Further forward, a media room features a cinema and a games table. The fully-stocked tender garage is to be located nearby the beach club in the stern that comes complete with a wellness area, a unique storage space for 40 fishing rods and a multi-tiered swim deck.Heesen project SkyFallPhoto: Heesen Yachts / Omega

“Project SkyFall forced us to think out of the box and look for smart engineering solutions,” commented Peter van der Zanden, Heesen's design and development manager. “At Heesen, we enjoy putting our thinking caps on, to find ingenious solutions to challenging requests from our clients.”
