Following Sunday’s fire in the Fort Lauderdale marina Bahia Mar, the 57.6-metre yacht W has incurred limited damage to her hull, as explained in a recent official statement from Feadship:“The 57-metre Feadship yacht W was involved in an unfortunate incident at the Bahia Mar marina in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday 17 January when a smaller boat docked next to W caught fire as it was being refuelled. Thankfully, swift action by the crew of W and the local fire brigade ensured that this flash fire caused only minimal damage to the Feadship yacht.
Apart from some broken sleep, no-one was hurt in the incident. The only part of W affected was the clear coat on the starboard bow, which was a little burnt by the flames. The minor repairs required to her metallic silver hull will be carried out at the nearby Rybovich Superyacht Marina, ensuring W is swiftly made ready for her owners to continue their Feadship adventures.”
