Construction on 36m Westport 117 back on track
Westport Yachts has announced that construction on a new 35.76-metre Westport 117 is set to begin in the first week of June 2021 at the shipbuilderโs Washington site. Construction on the motor yacht originally commenced in early 2020 with an expected delivery of 2021, but was disrupted due to Covid-19 restrictions imposed by the state of Washington. The project is expected to be completed in 2022.Photo: Westport YachtsThe Westport 117 features both an exterior and interior design from her builder, Westport Yachts. She sports a raised pilothouse and features large glass windows that are used throughout to allow plenty of natural light to flood her interiors.
A wide 7.7-metre beam creates an open main saloon on the yacht and includes a lounge area and formal dining area, which will be customised to her ownerโs tastes.
The motor yacht can accommodate as many as 10 guests across four staterooms comprised of a full-beam master suite with en-suite his-and-hers-bathrooms, a full-beam VIP cabin, a queen-sized cabin and a twin cabin. They will be taken care of by a crew of five.
Outside, the yacht features a sun deck Jacuzzi, multiple al fresco dining areas and a beach club complete with a bar.
Performance-wise, the Westport 117 will be able to reach a top speed of 24 knots and cruise comfortably at 20 knots thanks to her twin Caterpillar C32-ACERT engines.
