Rumours of falling sales in luxury goods and of large yacht builders filing for creditor protection are contradicted by news from YPI Brokerage, the Sales Division of Yachting Partners International, which not only reports a number of strong enquiries with several substantial contracts in the pipeline, but also the completed sale this week of the superb 74m Espen Oeino designed super yacht Silver.
The deal, believed to be the largest the yachting industry has seen since September 2008, was pulled together in record time and with minimum fuss. The quiet broking of this deal shows the strength of Yachting Partners International and its ability to bring the right buyers and sellers together with the support of its commercial ship-broking parent, Barry Rogliano Salles (BRS), and an active network of offices world-wide, stretching far beyond the traditional reach of yachting markets.
Silver has been widely admired since her launch in 2007 with her sleek, efficient, low-profile design combined with exceptionally high standards of construction and full SOLAS compliance.
