Intent on capitalising still further on its vast yachting experience and hands-on management support, the team at YPI Yacht Management have now welcomed Class 1 Master Mariner Captain Alain Desmot into the Division.
Despite the very French name, Alain has never lived in France and holds both New Zealand and Canadian citizenships as well as a Thai residency. Excited about his future with Yachting Partners International he can’t wait to get to work. “Ships and yachts are my life,” he grins, “after my Thai wife and beautiful 4-year old daughter of course.’ As the Captain and Superintendent of the square-rigged Sail Training Tall Ship Kaisei, Alain has trained hundreds of navy cadets and multinational students in maritime art and sciences over the years. “I really believe that what I know today and what I’ve learned over all my years at sea is something that can really help owners and captains and crew solve those problems that do come up in yachting life - that way,’ he smiles again, ‘everyone wins a bit more time to really enjoy the things that make yachting so special.”
